Who is the EOFSAC?

  • The EOFSAC is coordinated by the University of Maryland Center for Global Agricultural Monitoring Research (UMD CGAMR). Led by Inbal Becker-Reshef, with scientific guidance from Chris Justice and program management from Alyssa Whitcraft, the EOFSAC Hub at the CGAMR is staffed by individuals in the fields of remote sensing, GIS, modeling, communications, and IT. The EOFSAC Hub is partnered with the NASA-wide Food Security Office located at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center to support efforts for programmatic, technical, and scientific reach-back across multiple NASA centers.
  • The EOFSAC is made up of over 40 principals drawn from leading organizations around the world that use EO to advance agriculture and food security.  The proposed consortium anchors a broad network of partners drawn from universities, government agencies and government research organizations, NGOs, international multi-lateral organizations and the private sector, representing end users, information and service providers, and applications researchers.
