How I work with EOFSAC

Dr. Chris Justice is the Scientific Lead for EOFSAC. He has contributed to the strategic vision of EOFSAC since its inception and through support from the Consortium continues in his role as GEOGLAM Co-chair. His areas of research interest related to EOFSAC include: 

•    Satellite-based Agricultural Monitoring 
•    Land Use and Land Cover Change
•    EO-Based Decision Support Systems
•    Terrestrial Observing Systems/Remote Sensing


Chris Justice received his Ph.D. from the University of Reading, United Kingdom, in 1977. In 2001 he became a Professor and Research Director of Geography at the University of Maryland, and in 2010, he became the Department Chair (to the renamed Department of Geographical Sciences). Currently, Dr. Justice is a Program Scientist for NASA's Land Cover Land Use Change (LCLUC) Program. He is the Land Discipline Lead for MODIS and SNPP-VIIRS. He is Chair of the NASA LANCE User Working Group. He is a member of the international GOFC/GOLD-Fire Implementation Team.
